Information for Schools

Here at Weardale Adventure Centre we offer an exciting range of fun based educational activities in a relaxed, friendly environment.

Weardale Adventure Centre promotes ‘real activities’ from underground exploring, canoeing on the river Wear to rock climbing. We use only qualified and professional staff to run all of our activities. We offer exceptional health and safety standards and have even been recommended by our insurance company AIM. We are on the school website ‘Evolve’ and after a recent visit from Leeds City Council the centre has been voted outstanding.

As a small and friendly Centre, you will find us to be fully flexible in arranging a customized package to meet the specific needs of your school. Weardale Adventure Centre offer great support in the lead up and duration of your stay. We are happy to visit your school prior to your visit to chat to children and parents and answer any questions they may have.

If you are interested in learning outside of the classroom however your school do not have a residential school trip, we can also provide activities, primarily bushcraft directly to your school premises. Bushcraft is a very diverse activity that teaches real skills such as fire lighting, survival, shelter building and cooking. It is a mentally and physically challenging activity that entails science, geography and maths, and can be easily tailored to meet school curriculum. Please get in touch if you would like any further information about this opportunity.
